The Antlers' members faced a seemingly impossible task in following 2009's Hospice: A devastating, career-defining concept album about the death of a loved one, Hospice was too personal and painfully intimate to replicate. So the Brooklyn band did the next best thing: For the new Burst Apart, it wrote a bunch of soaring, catchy songs that are true to The Antlers' sound without treading familiar ground or sacrificing power and beauty.
Recorded live at The Gorge on Saturday, May 28, the band performs live at the 2011 Sasquatch Music Festival outside Seattle, Wash.
