Must be 18 years of age, or 17 years of age and who has satisfactorily completed at least 1 year of a vocational-occupational child care aide training program approved by the department of education.? Two years youth program experience or related education.?

?

Will be required to undergo and successfully pass a background check.? Must maintain a good moral character standing.

?

Must possess good health as determined by a physical examination.? Must acquire TB Screening, CPR and First Aide certification within 3 months of hire date.?

?

Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.?

?

Native American preferred.

Working knowledge of a broad range of recreational activities including sports, athletics and fitness, arts and crafts, games, cultural arts, music, dance, and other social activities.

?

Must possess physical and emotional endurance necessary to work with youth for long periods of time, while maintaining patience, control, and an enjoyable program atmosphere.

?

Must possess excellent negotiating, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, plus ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

?

Working knowledge of participant disciplinary policies and procedures, effective methods of implementing discipline with participants, and communicating disciplinary action with group leader.

?

Working knowledge of Facility policies and procedures, safety, emergency and security plans and procedures, youth programs/special events set up, and ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously.?

?

Knowledge of blood borne pathogen policies and procedures. Knowledge of First Aid and CPR procedures.

?

Working knowledge of State of Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers.

?

Ability to nurture childhood illnesses in an appropriate and caring manner.

?

Ability to respond to difficult and stressful situations in an efficient, effective and positive manner.
