Although beautiful candles were made for the wealthy people of countries like France and Italy for centuries, the art of candle making really started recently, just a century or so ago.

The art of candle making is an art that anyone with a creative bone in their body can partake in, all that you need is the basic understanding of candle making and a good imagination. If you use your creativity you can make unique candles that become designer or highly valuable. Make sure that you understand that it is an art and should be treated as such, it is not simply a hobby. Art is beautiful and it works to inspire the mind and the imagination. It is something that people enjoy looking at and that helps to relax the mind as well as ignite the imagination. When you take the time to understand and learn the art of candle making there is no limit as to where your art will take you, maybe someday your candles will be in a museum, you never can tell.
