These are the kinds of fireworks I'd want to see if I was stationed overseas! So cool.
Military gaming charity Operation Supply Drop hit a big milestone for their first annual 4th of July Donation drive, code-named "Pixel Fireworks." The result was some much-appreciated gaming goodies for our courageous troops in Afghanistan.
Twelve care packages loaded with approximately $30,000 worth of video games, consoles, and game-related gear were deployed across Afghanistan. One even went to an individual at Walter Reed national military hospital who is currently recovering from injuries. The $30k horde was gathered up between June and July and if you want to know what got sent over, click the link above. It's a huge list; Operation Supply Drop sent 3 250GB Xbox 360s, 1 60GB PS3, 1 250GB PS3 and a Wi-Fi PlayStation Vita. They also got a bunch of cool controllers, headsets and other accessories, as well as a boatload of games.
Those titles included a signed copy of Gears of War: Judgment, along with high-profile productions like Assassin's Creed, Halo 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Battlefield 3, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, the Devil May Cry HD Collection, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, Need for Speed: The Run and many more. This is the kind of charity drive I can really get behind, you know?
