However, you?ll be amazed at just how quickly they?ll pick up on how to assemble and play with this train set. We found plenty of 3 year olds that were able to handle this set all on their own!
Like so many toys from Brio and Schylling, this classic train set is made of solid wood to last a lifetime. This is without question the kind of set that you would be able to box up and pass on to your grandkids when they are ready!
Take it apart, put it together and chug, chug, chug along! This set has all of the functionality a little boy or girl could ask for!
So?.let?s just say that this set isn?t on the inexpensive side. With a suggested retail price of $49.99 many of the parents in our group were hesitant to say they would pick this up for their own kids. Most felt that they would love it as a gift?but most weren?t comfortable shelling out $50 for a train set that wasn?t electric! Yes, we commented on just how long it would last?yet even with that some of our parents felt that when push came to shove they would opt for a less expensive plastic model.
Brio toys have that amazing classic feel?yet play as well as any modern iteration out there. In our book ? that speaks volumes about originality!
Bottom line we love everything about this train set other than the price. If you can handle the cost, you aren?t going to find a better starter train set anywhere. The pieces are easy to use, and absolutely well-made. Your child will love to play with the set too ? you?ll be amazed at just how often they are willing to sit there and assemble, disassemble and start again.
