Last year, HTC launched its first 3D smartphone, the HTC EVO 3D. This handset allows you to record 2D videos in full HD (1080p) and 3D videos in HD (720p), thanks to its 5 megapixel dual cameras. HTC EVO 3D was shipped with the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. Back in March, HTC has promised to roll out the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for 16 smartphones, including the HTC EVO 3D.
HTC has already rolled out the Android 4.0 update in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. However, the EVO 3D owners in India were still waiting to get their hands on the Android 4.0 OS. Now, we have good news for the folks in India. HTC India recently tweeted that the company has started rolling out the much-awaited Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for this unique smartphone in India.
The latest update brings the Sense 3.6 UI, system bar enhancements, lock screen actions including pull down notifications and adjust volume while device is locked, re-sizeable widgets, data usage controls, advanced voice and text input, improved menu structure, face unlock, home screen folders, improved battery life, improved text input and spell checking and much more.
The size of the update is 300 MB and it bumps the HTC EVO 3D to 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. This update will be available via OTA (Over-The-Air). You will be automatically notified when the update is available for your device. If you have not received the update, then just go to Home > Applications > Settings > About Device > System updates and check for the update.
