Team 'Rosa Blossoms' ? Michelle DeCoste, Roseanne Ackerley, Whitney Bracco, Lindsay Bracco, Andrea Katkow, Katherine Korsak ? pose during the MoonWalk, which started and ended on Randall's Island.

A brigade of women ? and even a few men ? wearing brightly colored bras lit up the city Saturday night for charity.

About 1,500 people turned out for New York?s first ever MoonWalk, an overnight jaunt to raise breast-cancer awareness based on Randall's Island.

Taryn Moran, whose mother was recently diagnosed with the disease, showed up with her sister and aunt ? all in matching bras and capes.

?Every time, we said, ?What are we doing?? We just thought of what she?s going through,? said Moran, 25, of Middletown, N.J. ?She thought it was something cute and clever and fun.?

U.S. soccer star Brandi Chastain, who famously tore off her jersey after scoring the winning penalty kick in the 1999 Women?s World Cup, lent a dose of star power to the event.

?Breast cancer is close to my family,? said Chastain, whose aunt suffers from the disease.

The participants raised at least $150 each for British charity Walk the Walk, which benefits Memorial Sloan-Kettering?s Harlem Breast Examination Center.

They hope to raise $2 million.
