Do you seek employment for a very busy, multi location organization that requires an experienced HR Manager whose mantra is ?get things done???Do you have a strong background in labor relations and in leading an HR team?? If so, our Edmonton client would be interested in speaking to you!

Reporting into the VP of Operations (and dot line to VP of HR) we require someone who is energetic, used to a fast paced environment and can manage multiple?projects all the time.

Primary duties for the chosen individual will include the following:

  • Actively partnering with the management team in the establishment of the strategic direction for the business, including identification of organizational development needs and overall alignment of HR programs and systems to achieve business results
  • Managing all ER and LR issues at two locations in Edmonton.
  • Will be working proactively with management, employees and the Union to ensure a productive and respectful workplace
  • Leading an HR team of 2 junior individuals, mentoring and ?learning by example? approach
  • Managing all grievances at the property
  • Taking part in collective agreement negotiations
  • Performing full recruitment services including front end needs analysis, job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and employee offers
  • Leading the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels
  • Providing coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, training, compensation, recruitment, performance management and employee relations programs
  • Assists in compiling relative HR metrics, analysis and reporting
  • Other related HR duties as needed

To be considered, here are some of our clients? list of?qualifications:

  • 8+ years of HR experience, including at least 5+ years of managerial experience leading an HR team
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources or another relevant, including CHRP designation
  • Experience working within a complex unionized environment, interpreting union contracts, handling grievances and negotiations
  • Extremely strong knowledge of all applicable HR legislation
  • Knowledge of all HR functions and ability to develop, implement and administer programs
  • Team leader able to provide support, motivation and encouragement to the team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and negotiations skills to build and maintain strong relationships and act as a facilitator
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A flexible team player with a proven ability to work successfully in a matrix reporting environment
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
